Campaigning in Thorpe Hamlet today

Interesting Bank Holiday Monday on the campaign trail, good to see this building on Rosary Road finally reaching completion Other construction sites around the constituency started off later and have been completed ages ago, but I'm sure that the thought and effort invested in this building will be worth it in the end.

I've really enjoyed meeting and talking to residents in Thorpe Hamlet today, not just supporters, but those who don't share my political views. Had a storming sparring session with an opposition voter only to find that our ideologies were perhaps not dissimilar after all, except that my fundamental premise is that all social benefit has to be properly costed and not lock people into poverty. We agreed that our country is perhaps not doing enough to include disabled people into the work place and rather than a policy change this requires a cultural shift which begins by political parties leading by example. Really interesting conversation!
